Hardt Wolfgang

Between 1991 and 1994, Wolfgang Hardt completed an apprenticeship as a Joiner and Draughtsman. Subsequent to successfully completing his studies at the College of Art and Design in Augsburg in 1996, he worked with the Diocesan and University planning office in Eichstätt, Germany, as a Draughtsman, collaborating on a wide range of projects. From 1998 to 2001 he studied Architecture at the University of Applied Sciences Regensburg, Germany, where he was awarded his degree in 2002. From 2008 to 2009 he then completed a master's degree in “Architecture and Context” at the University of Applied Sciences Regensburg graduating with a “Master of Arts”.

From 2000 he initially worked as an intern and then as a Project Architect and Project Manager with Herzog & de Meuron in Basel, collaborating on different projects in Switzerland and abroad, including the new building and extension of the St. Jakob Park football stadium in Basel, the Prada Store Minami Aoyama in Tokyo, Japan, the St. Jakob Tower with the Mercedes Showroom and Shopping Centre in Basel, the Basel trade fair centre, and the VitraHaus in Weil am Rhein, Germany. In 2005 he was promoted to an Associate, before becoming a Partner of Herzog & de Meuron in 2008.

In 2011, Wolfgang Hardt joined Burckhardt+Partner AG as an Associate Partner, where among other tasks, he has been responsible for the Project Management of the “Mall of Switzerland” project in central Switzerland. From 2012 he manages the Basel 2 department as both Partner and Member of the company management. He is also a member of the board of the SIA, the Association of Swiss Engineers and Architects, Basel division, where he also works in the Specialist Commission for architecture / urban design.
