The decision to transfer the PostFinance headquarters to the PostFinanceArena site can be equated with a statement about the image of the business. This is reflected in the open modern architecture of the office building. It is intended to provide an interface between clients and staff and can be seen from afar in the large scale urban context.

By positioning the building volume with a maximum height at the southern end of the Allmend site, this has become an urban landmark. It serves as part of the whole structure built around the internal site plaza, together with the PostFinanceArena and Curling Hall, while also  becoming a landmark which can be seen far and wide.

The visual effect made by the building through the façade which appears to be reflecting or transparent, depending on the position of the sun, changes through the day. At night the building is set apart from the other building volumes by the internal lighting. In the local context, the high rise building is a “gate keeper” for the PostFinanceArena. The tower and the advanced ground floor level are clearly visible from the Mingerstrasse Alley and lead the visitor onto the site  where the plaza and PostFinanceArena are located.
