Food production and merchandise handling Schwab-Guillod

The main business of Schwab-Guillod AG is trade in a full range of fruit, vegetables, potatoes and pip fruit from all origins in the desired packaging. Many kinds of kitchen-ready fresh products are also on offer. With around 450 employees, Schwab-Guillod is one of the two biggest Seeland companies in the fruit and vegetable trade.

The production facilities at Müntschemier BE have been repeatedly extended and modernised in the past 15 years. Working in cooperation with the local Käsermann & Partner Architekten AG practice, Burckhardt+Partner AG was retained in 2007 to plan and implement a new production bay with a useful floor space of some 10,000 m2.

The new building fits in with the existing structure. A simple and functional style of architecture with a metal façade was chosen. The interior space styling is typified by the use of fresh colours which correspond to the brightly coloured products and so create a “warm” working atmosphere in the rooms which are cooled throughout.
