Production and reception building Endress + Hauser

A modeled strip of landscape extends from north to south which which creates a new landmark in the town:
As a terraced, vegetation-covered space, it is the distinguishing and connecting element of the existing structures and the new building. Opened wide toward the south, and virtually infinite in its perspective, it offers a high quality of work and attractive views of the surrounding buildings.

An inviting ramp rises slightly from the north to the main entrance and the lobby. This structure, designed as a hub and hinge of the complex, houses also the restaurant and the cafeteria at the level of the lowered terrain. Both spaces blend toward the south into a large terrace.

Glazed facades facing south and north with the same height as the rooms of the building eliminate the boundaries between interior and exterior. Bridge-like connections span the vegetation-covered zone. A walkway between the production halls allows smooth internal connections.

A large showcase window overlooks the former production hall. Selective interior structures add value to the existing building; they accommodate a newsstand plus meeting rooms and offices. The generous room height of the hall is used for accommodating the showroom, which opens also onto the existing inner court. The industrial atmosphere of the existing buildings is maintained and generates excitement. Views onto and through the production hall visualize the workflow and support the transparency of the Flowtec company.

The new production hall is being built as an independent structure on the eastern premises. An extremely compact, economic building form with a clear structure, optimal workflows and high flexibility is the result.
