Architecture, realization

Following a competition in conjunction with the company Meier & Associates, this social accommodation building offers the realisation in two stages of 120 apartments of between 2 and 5 rooms spread by the inclusion of seven stairwells over six levels.

Part of a pre-established overriding plan, the project assumes the putting in place of a large dimensioned building whilst looking for its own rules of composition via the programme and its location. As a result, particular attention has been given to the treatment of the surroundings, of the nature of the ground and of the configuration of the ground floor devoted to commercial areas, to a crèche as well as to premises allotted to close-by medical support. On the upper floors, the project includes typologies reinterpreting the said “Geneva” type in a contemporary manner which enables the positioning of two north-south apartments and an apartment facing to the south. Both the static principal as well as the disposition of the rooms enable some of them to belong to one or the other of the apartments, giving a form of flexibility in the longer term rental offer.
