Tamina Therme Grand Resort Bad Ragaz

Grand Hotels Bad Ragaz AG will carry out extensive conversion and extension work on its hotel and spa infrastructure by 2009.

Burckhardt+Partner Berne is looking after the partial projects Tamina Thermal Baths, Spa Hotel and Medical Centre as general planner. The thermal baths as well as the building shell of the medical centre will be designed in accordance with the drafts of Smolenicky&Partner Architecture, Zurich. The Spa Hotel is based on a project by the Munich architects Hilmer&Sattler; Carbone GmbH in Wolfhalden AR is responsible for the interior architecture.

The existing thermal baths will be replaced by a striking new building. The extraordinary architecture of J. Smolenicky is based on the famous beach hotel Del Coronado in San Diego USA. The white wooden facade is designed to convey nobility as well as a holiday atmosphere.

The two Grand Hotels Hof Ragaz and Quellenhof will be complemented by a new Spa Hotel. It will offer exclusively luxury category suites each with own thermal water connections and spa facilities.

The coordination of further partial projects such as the conversion of the Grand Hotel Hof Ragaz and the spa section of the Quellenhof known as “ToB” will also be coordinated by Burckhardt+Partner.
