Ward block (BdL2) University Hospital Geneva

In association with Brunet-Saunier, Jacques Lucan, Odile Seyler and Gerold Zimmerli, architect office in Paris (winner of architect’s competition), Burckhardt+Partner SA has planning responsibility for construction of the 5th large project construction phase of the Cantonal University Hospital in Geneva. The new hospital bed building (BdL2) will complete in the year 2015 the extension of the hospital complex towards the south.

Aiming for general operational improvement and comfort in the whole hospital complex, the new building will be immerged in the Geneva urban structure and will create a new relation between the city and its hospital.

Thanks to a public esplanade and through the vision of a strictly urban style facade, the possibility of a new entrance will thus be established.
