Production building Small Scale Plant E52 Lonza AG

As general planners, Burckhardt+Partner AG implemented a project on the factory premises of Lonza AG in Visp for a new production building for making chemical intermediates and active agents on a small scale.

The building is an almost 30-meter-tall structure with two superposed production units plus the associated laboratories and ancillary areas. The new building is distinguished by its clear, straightforward and therefore economic structure. Its systematic division into three separate sections –production, infrastructure and access – creates optimal production processes and ensures high flexibility.

The delicate silvery-shining aluminum cladding of the building acts as a clever intermediary between the building’s purpose as a pure functional industrial building and the immediate surroundings with several research buildings.

A clear concept, efficient project handling, and honest and open communication allowed this project to be successfully completed and its ambitious schedule and budget goals to be achieved.
