The building is situated along the Bernstrasse in the municipality of Gals between the Cantonal road Berne/Neuchâtel and the centre of the village of Gals.

The factory is characterised by the 127 m long and 60 m deep lean-to roof, underneath which production, office and social rooms are accommodated in a partly two-storey building structure together with the parking space for 140 vehicles, which is open on three sides, and the truck approach with loading ramp. The transformer station and three small storage buildings are also situated here.
The lean-to roof is designed as overlapping roof consisting of long and cross supports as well as steel case-bays which are not laid over the full area, especially in the vicinity of the car park, and thus allow air, light and water to pass through.
