F Primary school Reinacherhof
– an integrated unit with classes of the public school of the commune of Reinach

The planners responded to the property’s location on the extremely busy Baselstrasse by an appropriate configuration of the classrooms and inner courts. Each school section is assigned a court or at least part of one. Specific uses give these inner courts a separate identity and make it easier for people to find their way around inside the building. These courts with different proportions emphasize the inner life of the school.

By identifying with the individual sections, the students feel at home. The wide variety of outlooks and insights animates them to discover and explore. The main internal access route is through two generously sized staircases, one of which is assigned to the primary school and the other to the middle and senior school. The principle of peripheral corridors is applied as far as possible. This offers students the option between two routes, upgrading the corridor from a pure connecting element to a communication and exhibition zone. Seating possibilities, niches and common areas are available, allowing the classrooms to be extended into the corridors.
