Office building Rivella

Draft concept

The staggering of the building structure, whose ground plan surrounds a four-storey atrium in belt form, creates a generous terrace indent on the first floor with a clear view of the scenery opposite. Here, outer and inner areas of the building penetrate one another and light from the side also enters the atrium in addition. The terrace is situated in front of the staff restaurant. The three-story building in which the staff restaurant is located is thus detached from the actual administration building and has an own entrance on the front of the building in order to protect against contact reservations on the part of the production staff.

Facade design

The surrounding, bright parapet belts emphasise the unconventional form of the building structure. Situated within the generous glass areas between the parapet belts are coloured opening wings which make subtle reference to the typical brand colours of Rivella AG.

Situation

On the road side, the polygonal building structure is aligned along the building line and adapts the respective entrance facades of restaurant and administration to the prevailing space situation. Staff and visitor car parks are accessed via the entrance in front of the administration building. A generous passage for the delivery traffic from Bonigerweg is left between the new building and the future extensions of the production building.

Organisation of space

Public use facilities affiliated to the atrium such as foyer, juice bar, Rivella garden, lounge, are located on the ground floor of the administration building. The atrium brings daylight into the development zones of the building and assumes the function of a glass-covered plaza for dwelling, communication and presentation, and links the individual storeys and departments vertically and transparently via visual contact and an exposed staircase instead of separating them from one another.
The auditorium is situated adjacent to the atrium, parts of which stretch right down to the basement. The basement also includes a fitness area as well as technical and storage areas.

The building has got the seal of “Minergie”.
